The Challenge
Now Student Living is continually acquiring and onboarding operational PBSA assets and complex portfolios. Each take-on brings legacy records, existing residents, and local teams who need to be up to speed quickly without disrupting the resident experience.
- Complex onboarding at scale: New sites needed to go live quickly and consistently, even when they arrived with different historic processes and data formats.
- Data integrity during transition: Before residents were given access, NSL needed confidence that the imported tenant and contract data were accurate to avoid impacting downstream processes.
- Operational strain on site teams: On-site teams had to learn a new system while continuing to deliver day-to-day service to residents, especially during busy periods.
The first major onboarding into Concurrent involved 13 PBSA sites with roughly 4800 beds. Whilst it required significant work to reconcile legacy data from previous systems before NSL could confidently grant residents access, the whole process was handled with minimal disruption.

The Solution
Following the first portfolio import, NSL and Concurrent collaborated to enhance the onboarding process for new assets.

The result is a dramatic reduction in workload. For their most recent take-on (a single 435-bed PBSA site with two academic years of data), Concurrent built the room inventory in a day and completed the full data import in less than a working week.
